כִּ֣י לֹ֧א יָכְל֛וּ לַעֲשֹׂת֖וֹ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֑יא כִּ֤י הַכֹּהֲנִים֙ לֹֽא־הִתְקַדְּשׁ֣וּ לְמַדַּ֔י וְהָעָ֖ם לֹא־נֶאֶסְפ֥וּ לִֽירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

Denn sie konnten es damals nicht behalten, weil sich die Priester nicht in ausreichender Zahl geheiligt hatten und sich das Volk auch nicht nach Jerusalem versammelt hatte.
